First of all, it must be remembered that tree is a natural material that grows in nature. The color and texture of tree gives each furniture surface uniqueness. Wood is characterized by differences in texture and color under different lighting conditions, so this phenomenon is considered to be completely normal. This only confirms the high quality of the materials and cannot be a basis for a claim. Like other natural materials, wood is exposed to excessively humid or dry air. Although covered with quality oils, the tree can swell or shrink. The furniture should be mainatined in a room where medium temperature and relative humidity are maintained.

The furniture is recommended to maintain at a temperature of + 18 ° С - + 25 ° С

During the heating season, solid wood furniture can dry out, therefore it is advisable to humidify the indoor air. With a humidity of less than 55%, there is a risk of the furniture cracking. This is not due to the manufacturer's fault, but to incorrect maintenance.

During the non-heating season, when the air humidity increases above 70%, wooden furniture attracts moisture from the environment, expands, moving parts can start to touch one another, so the premises need to be drained.

Solid wood furniture is sensitive to direct sunlight and direct light from light sources. Exposure to these rays can change the color saturation. Changes in hue and color intensity usually occur in solid wood furniture. Furniture made of wood can age naturally, and "veins" can appear on this furniture. This is a normal reaction. Furniture should be cleaned in the direction of the wood fiber structure, as this is better cleaned without clogging the smallest depressions in the solid structure.

Solid wood furniture should not be washed with large amounts of water, as cracks may appear on the surface of the wood. Such surfaces can be cleaned with a cloth dampened with a solution of neutral liquid soap and well squeezed. After wiping the surface with a damp cloth, it should be cleaned dry immediately. Excess moisture entering the joints can create micro-cracks. To avoid this, drain. Do not allow grease and other very dirty stains to dry on the surface, as indelible stains may form on the wood in these areas.

The surface of natural wood must be protected from shocks, mechanical damage, sharp objects. Do not allow surfaces to rub against metal objects.

When placing drinks, houseplants, etc. on wooden furniture, always use the appropriate material trays or plates, as stains will appear on the surface of the furniture when the liquid gets on it, and after a long time the wood finish may bounce off. The surface of wooden furniture is negatively affected by direct sunlight - the wood fades, splits. For these reasons, wooden furniture should be placed away from windows, air conditioners and heaters, which also damage the moisture balance of the wood. Some plastic or rubber items contain materials that can damage the finish of wooden furniture, so stains can be found, so it is worth choosing their location more carefully or using soft covers and napkins. Synthetic, rubber, plastic items contain harmful chemicals that, like grease, damage the surface of furniture, so it is not advisable to leave such items on wooden furniture for a long time. Tablecloths or cork pallets protect your furniture, but remember to remove these covers from time to time and check that there are no unnoticed stains or particles of spilled and absorbed liquids that could damage the surface of the furniture.

Wooden surfaces must be protected from the ingress of any aggressive substances (thinners, petrol, acids, acetone, etc.).

If your furniture is not made of synthetic material, but of natural wood, things like small dot branches, wood grooves, color variations of each board, the unevenness of the wood structure should not confuse you. On the contrary, this is what emphasizes the natural beauty of wooden furniture.

Solid wood furniture is durable as it can always be renewed. This is a big advantage. With proper maintenance of solid oak furniture, you will be able to enjoy them for many years to come.

Wood is a natural product of nature with the ability to change its color over time, whatever the material with which it was covered. There is no single shade or pattern of wood, each tree is different, grows in different conditions.

Wooden furniture is affected by temperature fluctuations.

Change the location of items, accessories, or accessories on wooden furniture so that they do not lie in the same place all the time, even if the furniture fades, there will be no bright spots on it.

Wipe off dirt immediately. It is better to clean with a well-absorbent material rather than rubbing. White stains on the furniture might leave if water is not cleaned for a long time. Alcohol, perfumes, aftershaves, and medications can severely damage the surface.

Do not use several types of cleaners at once or at the same time.

It usually takes 3 to 9 months for the furniture from the manufacturer to reach the buyer. The oil is already absorbed into the wood. Therefore, it is especially recommended to oil the furniture onceagain before you maintain it. How to do it:

You have to buy furniture oil. Make sure that the oil is specifically for furniture:

Oils come in different bases. If you use the wrong base oil, there is a high probability that your furniture will be punctured by white stains. And then after rubbing ir with sandpaper for a long time you will be able to remove the new oil from the surface. Our furniture is oiled with colorless flaxseed oil.

Furniture oil does not contain harmful impurities, so you can safely put food on it. If you have floor or other oil left over from construction - we do not recommend oiling the furniture with it for the reasons mentioned above.

But if you decide to take a risk - then we recommend to cover the invisible side of the furniture with unknown oil (for example - turn the table over and cover some 20x20 cm from the inside of the table). Wait 12 hours. If nothing has happened – you can try to oil the whole furniture. Good luck!

Sometimes customers ask us - can we use olive or sunflower cooking oil? We do not recommend it because edible oil, like any food, may start to emit an unpleasant odor when it expires. Each product has its own intended purpose. Upholstery oil is better absorbed than edible oil. You can use edible oil, but the result will be worse.

Ambient temperature

The ambient temperature must be at least 20 C, then the oil is well absorbed into the surface. Of course, you can also work at lower temperatures, but your work will be worse (the oil will not absorb well into the wood);

Prepare the surface

Swipe by hand the surface of the furniture. The hand is significantly more sensitive than the eye to assess surface roughness. If you feel a rough surface, scrub the area with a fine sandpaper (emery number / caliber must be at least 180). Scrub is needed along the wood fiber, by no means across!

What happens if you scrub across wood fibers / across lamellae? Nothing terrible will happen, but as a result you will only scratch the surface and still to get a smooth surface - you will need to finish scrabing by scrabing along the wood fiber.

Surface oiling

Pour furniture oil into a flat container and cover the entire surface of the furniture with a cotton cloth, the oil begins to absorb into the surface.

Wait 15-20 minutes; oil, depending on the structure of the wood, will already be absorbed in some places and not yet in others. Then use the same cloth to sweep across the surface of the furniture again and smooth out / dispel the excess oil.

Wait a few minutes and wipe off excess oil with a clean, dry cotton cloth or paper kitchen towel. And if you don't clean, what will happen? After 24 hours, the oil will harden and the places where the drops of oil were - shine like a varnish, and where the oil was absorbed - will be a matte surface. And then again you will need to use sandpaper no.180 (and higher number) to help.

Repeat everything after half a year or a year.

It is recommended to renew the finish every six months or at least once a year. More commonly used furniture, such as a table top, is recommended to over-oil more often.
